Viewers Warm To Life In Cold Blood

Chameleon The first part of Sir David Attenborough’s new series, Life In Cold Blood, was enjoyed by more than 6.4 million adults last night, giving BBC One a 28.4% audience share between 9pm and 10pm.

However, the intriguing programme, which examined the fascinating world of reptiles, looking at the lives of crocodiles, chameleons and turtles to name a few, had little competition in the timeslot.

Over on ITV1, royal drama The Palace managed to lure over 2.9 million adults, giving the station a 13% viewing share.

BBC Two’s Paradise or Bust was watched by just under one million adults on average, whilst City Of Vice on Channel 4 gained over 1.2 million, and Five pulled in over 1.1 million for Ray Liotta film No Escape between 9pm and 11.30pm.

Earlier, the soaps pulled in the crowds, with Claire, the saucy new minx on the EastEnders block, attracting over nine million (38.5%) to the shouty soap.

Meanwhile, ITV1 screened two episodes of Coronation Street. The first – on between 7.30pm and 8pm – was seen by almost 10.2 million adults (46.5%), whilst the later episode, between 8.30pm and 9pm, gained an average adult audience of over 9.1 million (38.2%).
