US Radio Revenues Down 6% In February

Radio advertising revenue in the US fell by 6% in February when compared to the same month last year, according to new figures from the US Radio Advertising Bureau.

In February 2000, revenues showed a 22% increase on 1999, mainly due to the dotcom marketing boom, which was in full swing at that point.

Mirroring the experiences described by the UK’s Scottish Radio Holdings this morning (see City News), local revenue was down 2%, whilst national radio advertising dropped by 22%.

The bureau is expecting local revenues to recover in the second half.
