UBC Media Signs Radio Deal With US Firm

Digital radio broadcaster and programme producer, UBC Media, has launched its Digital Radio Display Text Software in partnership with US company, Harris Corporation.

The deal will see UBC’s display text software integrated into Harris’s HD Radio Flexstar product portfolio, potentially generating millions of dollars in revenues for the UK based company.

The US radio industry is about to undergo a switchover from analogue to digital, with UBC bringing experience from the UK switchover.

Commenting on the initiative, Simon Cole, chief executive of UBC said: “Our advantage is that we have the test laboratory of the UK market where we have been doing all of this work for the last three years already.”

UBC recently revealed an upbeat trading statement with revenues expected to be up by 25% compared to the same time last year (see UBC To Launch Music Download Service Before Year End).

The group said that its commercial network advertising and programming business continued to outperform predicting 21% growth in advertising revenues.
