Following on from the statement last week by Spanish telecoms and media giant Telefonica that it was considering selling Endemol – the production company behind global television hits such as Big Brother – shares in the Dutch company rose by 4.7%.to €13.6 yesterday.
The rise was fuelled by speculation that Telefonica has been sounded out by parties interested in buying the Spanish giant’s 75% stake in Endemol.
