27% Of Irish Population Now Online

According to a recent survey by the Office of the Director of Telecommunications Regulation (ODTR), 27% of Irish people now have home Internet access.

Although this figure is relatively low compared with other European countries, the survey also found that 41% of these users are under 25, suggesting high potential growth for the future and 16% of those not currently online plan to connect during the coming year.

The study also showed that almost two-thirds of users have not made purchases online, respondents cited lack of interest and security issues as the main reasons for this.
