TV Overnights: Return of Britain’s Got Talent gets 10.6m viewers

An average of 10.6 million viewers (a 44% share) tuned in to the return of Britain’s Got Talent to ITV1 on Saturday night.

On for 90 minutes from 8pm, the show peaked at 11.5 million viewers (a 46.8% share).

There were two new shows hitting ITV1’s screens on Saturday, with new gameshow The Whole 19 Yards grabbing an average 4.3 million viewers (21.7%) from 7pm to 8pm, peaking at 4.4 million.

Following Britain’s Got Talent at 9.30pm was The Prisoner, the broadcaster’s big-budget remake of the 60s classic.

An average of 3.2 million viewers (14.2%) watched the programme, peaking at 4.2 million (17.9%) just after it began.

Earlier in the evening, 6.2 million (32.7%) watched the latest episode of Dr Who, in which the Daleks returned again.
