Chrysalis, the media and music group whose interests include Heart FM in the Midlands, has announced a pre-tax loss of £2.5m for the six months to the end of February. The loss, which compares to profits of £32,000 last year, was partly blamed on investment costs.
Bristol-based radio group GWR has revealed an increase in pre-tax profits from £930,000 to £2.06m, for the six-months to the end of March. Granada has announced an interest in expanding in cable. It is developing low cost television channels, which would exploit the company’s existing productio capacity. The new media restrictions prevent Granada owning any more broadcasting licences.
