Andy Jones, media director with Glasgow-based Bridge Alliance, left the agency unexpectedly this week. His departure on Wednesday has left deputy media director Anne MacLean in charge of the department until a replacement is decided.

Chief executive of HTV Group, Charles Romaine, has resigned from the television company, after only two years in the position. He will be replaced by Chris Rowlands, formerly finance director with HTV. The recently accelerated risk of takeover by a larger ITV company is said to have influenced Romaine’s decision.

Arts controller at LWT, Melvyn Bragg, has proposed that a percentage of the BBC licence fee should be used to produce public service programmes for ITV, Channel 4 and satellite stations.
