ITV will this week launch a nationwide marketing campaign worth over £0.5m to promote its new Saturday football highlights programme, The Premiership (see ITV Brings Sport To Saturday Evenings).The campaign, said to be ITV’s biggest ever for a sports programme, will focus on poster, radio and press with 96 and 48 sheets appearing nationwide from today.
Posters will be placed on ITV’s roadside holdings targeting commuters on key arterial intersections out of London and other major cities and ads will appear in national press from 18 August, the day of the first Premiership match.
ITV’s head of viewer marketing, Jo Walker, said: “We are proud to be bringing The Premiership to viewers at 7pm and we wanted our campaign to reflect this pioneering schedule change in a humorous and celebratory way.”
The campaign, which was created by HHCL & Partners and bought by Starcom Motive, will also be supported by SMS text messaging and other activity.
