A Football Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Celtic had a peak audience of 6.6 million viewers last night on ITV1 – a 28.7% share of the audience.

The coverage of the Champions League match was live from 7.30pm to 10pm and had an average audience of 5.3 million viewers.

Comedy-drama Sunshine, on BBC One for an hour at 9pm, had a peak of 4.4 million viewers (a 20.4% share) and an average audience of four million (a 17.5% share).

On at the same time on Channel 4 was Jamie’s Ministry of Food. Its average audience of 2.4 million was beaten by CSI: Miami, which bagged 2.6 million viewers.

CSI: Miami had a peak of 2.8 million viewers – a 12.2% viewing share.
