Two Way TV Tunes In
Two Way TV, a system that allows viewers to take part in their favourite quiz, sports and magazine shows from the comfort of their own homes *Interactive TV Gets Investment Boost, is to launch in the Central region on March 15. Shows being offered are reported to include Family Fortunes, Top Gear and The Great Antiques Hunt.
The launch will backed by a £3 million ad campaign, the biggest marketing promotion ever staged in the Central region.
The campaign will feature television advertising during peak-time shows and programmes which are Two Way TV compatible, as well as poster and press advertising across the region. On a national scale, the campaign is bigger than that of the Orange launch in 1994.
Aimed at the young family audience, Two Way TV will be launching nation-wide later in the year with an additional estimated marketing spend of £17 million. Subscribers to the system will have to fork-out £99.95 for the decoder and handsets and pay £6.95 monthly.
Ian Squires, managing director of Central TV, said: “This new technology provides viewers with an additional opportunity to interact with their TVs. We are pleased to have provided the first chance for the system to go live in the UK.”
