talkSPORT and The Times have joined forces for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, which kicks off on 12 June.
For four weeks, Times columnists including Tony Evans, Oliver Kay, Matt Dickinson, Matt Hughs, Rory Smith and James Ducker will appear live on air to discuss the day’s stories and offer key insights into the match, while talkSPORT will run bespoke trails promoting The Times across its schedule and online adverts at talkSPORT.com.
Throughout the event, The Times will also be running a dedicated World Cup supplement every week day and offering a trial subscription for the tablet edition for £1 for 30 days.
“Our partnership with talkSPORT is further evidence of our commitment to providing our readers with the very best sports content, be it in the newspaper, in our tablet edition or in our new dedicated sports app,” said Nick Stringer, director of marketing communications at News UK.
“By partnering with the world’s biggest sports radio station we’ll be giving football fans access to unrivalled commentary, opinion and analysis throughout the tournament.”
Adam Mills, sales director at talkSPORT, added: “The World Cup is the biggest sporting event in the world for both fans and the media, and talkSPORT will have wall-to-wall coverage from Brazil right through to the final.
“We know both talkSPORT and The Times have the best sports journalists in the business, and by partnering we can give our listeners even more insight into everything that’s happening during the tournament.”
