Abbot Mead Vickers Benefit From Advertising Boom

Advertising agency AMV reported its first-half pre-tax profits of £6.12m and a turnover of £207m yesterday. Both figures represent a 30% increase from the same period last year.

The company, which has recently secured new accounts from BT, Volvo and Air Lingus, says that the financial success has been planned and budgeted. As reasons for this success AMV’s Chairman Peter Mead points to the increased pace of interaction between the AMV Group companies and a greater number of clients using more than one of these companies.

The company has been helped further by advertisers spending 8% more than last year, and by attaining £100m worth of new contracts.
