ABC Appointed To Audit Condé Nast Titles

The Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) has been appointed as Condé Nast’s circulation auditor, increasing ABC’s auditing share of the consumer magazine market to 40%.

Consumer magazine publishers can choose either an external third-party or ABC staff to audit their titles and Condé Nast’s decision to appoint ABC means that the organisation now undertakes around 600 audits per annum. ABC’s first audit of Condé Nast titles, which include Glamour, Vogue and House & Home, will cover the period January to June 2002, data for which is due to be released next month.

Martyn Gates, ABC’s director of newspapers and consumer magazines, said: “It is highly encouraging that a publisher of Condé Nast’s standing is prepared to join other major publishers in taking advantage of the added benefits that ABC staff auditors provide.”

Vivien Matthews, circulation director of Condé Nast, added: “The decision to appoint ABC as our circulation auditor will simplify and streamline the circulation auditing process and we are very much looking forward to working with them.”
