ABC Follow Up Report: Adverts in Home Interest Titles
ABC results for the six-month period ending June 2002 saw a solid performance from IPC Media’s 25 Beautiful Homes, which saw 1 9% year-on-year rise. Despite this increase figures from Nielsen Media Research for the corresponding period revealed a 7.98% decline in the number of adverts in the title.
National Magazine’s House Beautiful magazine also saw an increase in circulation, rising 6.9% year-on-year. However figures from Nieslen Media Research show that the title saw a 12.14% decrease in the number of adverts on its pages. Ikea Room magazine saw the largest increase in adverts on its pages, with a 64.71% year-on-year increase in January to June 2002. There were no corresponding ABC Figures for the title as it had not reported its results by the 15th August 2002 The closure of IPC Media’s Homes & Ideas is also seen negatively weighing on the total number of adverts in the sector.
