The latest ABC figures, for April 2009, show that the Evening Standard‘s circulation was down 6.4% year on year, leaving its total at 263,312 copies.
Elsewhere, afternoon freesheets thelondonpaper and the London Lite remained relatively static, with distribution figures of around 500,800 and 400,100 respectively.
NewsLine reported earlier today that thelondonpaper racked up losses of almost £13 million in the 12 months to the end of June 2008 (see thelondonpaper cuts losses but doubles overdraft).
Of the morning freesheets, business paper City AM was up 7.4% year on year, to more than 107,000 copies, while Metro (London) fell 1.7% over the same time frame to under 735,000 copies.
