ABC: Mirror.co.uk enjoys web traffic boost in April

The Mirror Group’s digital offering put in an impressive performance in April, with average daily users up 17.45% on March, in a month that saw its rivals lose web traffic despite the royal wedding.

The group’s online network, which includes mirrorfootball.co.uk and 3am.co.uk, saw its user-base increase to 631,100 a day. Monthly users were also up – 23.56% month on month. UK users account for 52% of Mirror Group Digital’s online traffic.

All of the other UK national newspaper websites that report in the ABCe figures (which will now all sit under the ABC umbrella) saw traffic decline in April – a month that provided a bumper set of circulation figures for print titles.

Guardian.co.uk posted the largest drop in daily average users – down 11.58% to 2,407,265. Mail Online saw its average daily users fall by 1.79% in April, to 3,596,040, after posting a record high in March.

Telegraph.co.uk also posted a fall in online traffic,down 3.16% to 1,932,618 (with monthly users dropping 4.33%).

Independent.co.uk had 586,070 average daily users in April, down 3.18%. Monthly users fell 3.79% over the same period.
