ABC Online: MailOnline adds 1.7m unique browsers in January

All ABC-audited national newspaper websites enjoyed an impressive rise in users over January, with dominant newsbrand MailOnline enjoying the most remarkable increase, month on month.

After December 2014 saw an across-the-board drop in unique browsers accessing the newspaper websites, the dawn of 2015 brought much better news, with many of the online brands reclaiming even more visitors than the winter months had taken away.

The Daily Mail website cemented its dominant position by bringing in a daily average total of 13.9 million unique browsers over the month, representing a notable increase of 14%.

After losing over half a million browsers in December, Trinity Mirror Nationals bounced back with a huge 36% month on month increase, representing a 1.2 million jump in browsers to bring a total of 4.8 million in January.

Daily Post celebrated the biggest percentage increase, at 51%, but this only translated to an extra 21,000 browsers.

Guardian.co.uk remained firmly in second place with a little under 7 million daily browsers but this was still some way behind main rival MailOnline.
