ABC September: Metro sees a -34% fall in online activity

The majority of online newsbrands audited by ABC saw a fall in activity in September with Metro witnessing the biggest month on month loss.

The DMG Media-owned property suffered a massive loss of nearly half a million unique browsers (a -34% fall), with a daily average of over 925,000 browsers for the month.

Still leading the way was MailOnline which boasted 13.4 million unique browsers, translating a month on month fall of -2.5%.

The Guardian remained the second most popular national newsbrand with 8.4 million browsers, an increase of 11%, while Trinity Mirror Nationals hung onto third place despite a -9% drop in traffic.
