Ads Nominated For March Aerial Awards
March’s selection for the monthly Aerial Awards, which are for excellence in radio advertising, was judged by Toby Talbot and Chris Arnold who were finalists in last year’s Aerials.
They believe that time length is a crucial factor in radio advertising: in their opinion the longer the ad, the more impressive it is. This, they say, was one of the reasons their first choice ad stood out. Entitled ‘Tractor’ and produced for COI Road Safety by DMB&B, it ran for 60 seconds with a girl saying “You’re going to kill me” throughout.
Also nominated were Dime Bar ‘Mortgage’ (Y&R), a spoof on financial advertising, Observer ‘Weird Stuff’ (St.Luke’s) and Marks & Spencer Sandwiches ‘Thick’ (BMP4).
The Aerial Awards are presented yearly in October and the commercials that win monthly awards go straight to the final shortlisting session.
