Kent-based regional newspaper publisher, Adscene, has reported pre-tax profits of £5.2 million for the year ended 31 May 1998; this is a rise of 8.6%. Operating profit at the group was up a record 10% to £6.6 million. Earnings per share were up 19% to 11.3p.
Adscene’s non-executive chairman, Harry Lambert, said: “Publishing has achieved record growth in operating and margins… Trading conditions are buoyant and this is expected to continue in the immediate future.”
