Adshel Consolidates Scottish Presence With New Deal

Adshel has consolidated its presence in Scotland by securing the new ten-year street furniture contract for Aberdeen, in a deal worth more than £3 million.

The contract will see Adshel provide 60 new ad panels in and around Aberdeen’s main shopping street, in addition to an existing 287 opportunities across the city. The contractor will also install eight new Highlights panels, which measure 12 feet by 6 feet on a free-standing pole.

Commenting on the win, Adshel’s managing director, Julie France, said: “Adshel now has complete dominance in of the key cities of Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen and a significant presence in Glasgow through our recent acquisition of Score.” (see Score Outdoor Sale To Create Third Force In Market)

Adshel recently launched an initiative to provide clients with a quantifiable estimate of the extra value gained or lost by the quality of a campaign’s creative. The contractor claims that the tool allows advertisers to see the financial implications of a creative before it hits the streets (see Adshel To Quantify Campaign Creative For Clients).

The latest figures from the Outdoor Industry ended 2002 on a positive note, with fourth quarter revenues rising by 15% year on year to reach £187.8 million (see Outdoor Revenue Rises By 15% During Quarter Four 2002). Entertainment, media and leisure brands were the heaviest outdoor advertisers during 2002, spending £114 million in the sector over the course of the year.
