Adshel has secured the new 15 year street furniture contract for Salisbury, beating rival bids from three other contractors.
The contract, which begins in Spring 2003, will see Adshel supply and maintain 80 new glass and stainless steel bus shelters, designed to enhance Salisbury’s historic street scene.
Adshel has secured a range of street furniture contract this year with councils including Ashford, Bracknell, Canterbury and Gloucester, which it claims are worth in excess of £130 million over the typical 15 year period.
Commenting on the win, Adshel’s managing director, Julie France, said: “This is the first time that Salisbury has signed a street furniture contract in which their bus shelters will be maintained and cleaned free of charge, paid for by the advertising.”
She added: “Salisbury is strategically an important city for advertisers. It is the major conurbation in South Wiltshire – with a population of 40 thousand in the city itself. It’s also a tourist destination and benefits from additional traffic from Winchester, Southampton and Andover.”
Adshel recently appointed Will Ramage as national sales controller for its national roadside division, to enhance the planning side of the group’s management team (see Adshel Appoints National Sales Controller).
