Advertisers To Influence Digital TV

Advertisers To Influence Digital TV

ISBA will take up its position on the Government’s Digital Television Stakeholder Group later this month, allowing advertisers to help influence Government decisions on the future of digital TV.

The Stakeholder Group has been formed as one of the first steps of the Government’s recently launched Digital Action Plan (see Government Launches Digital TV Action Plan) and is intended to give voice to advertisers, broadcasters, manufacturers and retail organisations wishing to participate in the development of digital services in the UK.

ISBA has been campaigning for the Government to recognise the role that advertisers play in the multi-channel environment and the group will now be able to put forward the views and opinions of UK brands.

So far the digital revolution has been relatively slow to take hold in the UK (see Fulfilling The Digital Vision) and digital TV suffered a further set back last week the Government admitted that the deadline for the digital switchover could be delayed due to the lack of consumer interest in the medium (see Delay For The Digital Deadline).
