Andrew McGuinness, founding partner of Beattie McGuinness Bungay, has been named as the new chairman of the the Advertising Association.

McGuinness succeeds Mark Lund, who was recently appointed chief executive of the COI.

Penny Hughes, president of the AA, said: “I am delighted that Andrew joins to chair the Advertising Association at a time when the protection and promotion of advertising remains vital to our industry.

“I know, like Mark before him, he will be a dynamic and persuasive force for doing what is right. Our thanks to Mark for his considerable commitment to the AA, hugely appreciated by us all.”

McGuinness said: “It’s a great privilege to take on this role at such an exciting but challenging time for the advertising industry. I hope I can do my bit to continue the great work of Mark Lund over the past three and a half years.”
