Aegis Moves To Enhance Planning And Buying Operations

Aegis Media has secured a deal with Taylor Nelson Sofres to use its InfoSysTV planning and analysis tool to gain a greater insight into television audience data.

The agreement, which runs until December 2006, will allow Aegis to carry out day-part, programme and spot analysis of television audience data within one integrated system, in move designed to enhance the media network’s planning and buying operations.

Steve Hobbs, director of Carat Broadcast, part of the Aegis Media Group, said: “With the need to further understand our marketplace, we felt it time to investigate our options. Following a successful trial of the system within the company, we reached the decision to subscribe to InfoSysTV, as it is stronger than our current tool, and along with our proprietary systems, it will keep us ahead of the competition with regards to the service we provide to our clients.”

Nick Burfitt, commercial director of TNS TV Bureau, added: “The Aegis Media companies trialled the tool for two months on the recommendation of some of our existing clients and we are currently spending time training the relevant individuals on the system. We look forward to working with Aegis Media over the next few years in order to further enhance its business.”

The InfoSysTV system is already operational in 14 countries and TNS expects the software to be launched in a further four markets by the end of this year.

Aegis Group recently announced plans to bring all its media operations under an umbrella platform called Aegis Media. The network will comprise all the global communication company’s client-related media brands including Carat, Posterscope and its portfolio of specialist communications services agencies (see Aegis Centralises Media Operations).
