Agency Recovery In Terms Of Employment – Good News For Media Depts

The number of people employed in IPA member agencies as at 1 September 1995 is estimated to have been 12,300 at 225 member agencies, compared with 11,800 at 221 members in September 1994, according to the latest IPA census figures.

This is the second year of recovery from the low point of 11,100 as at 1 September 1993, but the numbers remain considerably lower than the 15,400 in 1989. This increase in staff has been at outside London agencies; however, there are changes in the make up of staff at London agencies, where the number of people working in the media function has increased by 200.
