ESI Media, publisher of the Evening Standard and The Independent, has appointed Andy Morley as chief digital revenue officer to lead the publisher’s commercial digital portfolio.
He joins from ad tech firm Amobee where he was VP of sales in EMEA, previous to which he held senior roles at Emap and Telegraph Media Group, as well as Grapeshot and Telaria.
In his new role, Morley will continue to build ESI Media’s international revenues across The Independent and Evening Standard digital portfolio.
“After 10 years in ad tech working for some amazing businesses, it was going to take a special type of organisation to make me change direction in my career,” Morley said.
“The Independent and Evening Standard digital brands are growing rapidly, and are well set for exponential growth in the near future. The management and editorial teams have genuine global ambition for both brands, so it is a privilege to join the team at this exciting time.”
He will report into Zach Leonard, MD, digital, ESI Media and Jon O’Donnell, MD, ESI Commercial.
Commenting on the appointment, Leonard said Morley’s experience leading early stage and established businesses across the UK and US will be “invaluable” to ESI as it looks to drive further growth across its digital portfolio.
“In The Independent and Evening Standard we have two established, heritage brands, both committed to innovation as they continue to grow global audiences – a desirable commercial proposition,” Leonard added.
Morley will commence his new position from 1 May.
