AOL Launches New High-Speed Broadband Service

AOL is expanding its range of high-speeed internet services with the launch of a new faster DSL broadband with the backing of a nationwide advertising campaign.
The new service is aimed at advanced internet users, enabling them to view and download files at faster speeds. It has been trialled by a number of AOL Broadband members over the past two months and costs £34.99 a month.
AOL will be running an outdoor, press and online advertising campaign with the strapline “Fast just got faster” in support of the new service.
In an attempt to succeed in the crowded broadband marketplace AOL will cover the charge that BT makes for members upgrading from the 512Kb broadband service to 1Mb, if they sign up for a further 12 month contract.
Commenting on the initiative, David Carr, AOL’s Vice President of Broadband, said: “AOL is the clear market leader in broadband content services, the launch of 1Mb means we are now offering the widest broadband portfolio in the UK as well as the most extensive availability.”
He continued: “We will be developing further content and product features for faster broadband services in the long term.”
AOL UK recently appointed former Virgin Radio sales controller, Giles Ivey, as director of sales for interactive marketing (see AOL Appoints Ivey As Director Of Interactive Sales).
