The ITC has announced that it has received two applications to run the cable delivery franchise for the Mid Sussex district of East Grinstead, comprising 42,000 homes.
The applicants are Convergence Ltd, a subsidiary of European Broadband Systems, and Eurobell Ltd, a subsidiary of Eurobell (Holdings) plc. Convergence proposes to offer service to 30,300 homes by the year 2000 and has made a cash bid of £626,132; Eurobell will offer service to 31,000 homes by 1999 and has made a bid of £37,031.
If the technical and business plans put forward by both applicants are satisfactory, the franchise will be awarded to the highest bidder.
