Arcadia And Associated New Media Zoom Online

Arcadia Group, the UK’s second largest clothing retailer, has launched a new consumer website this week called zoom.co.uk. Associated New Media is one of the main content providers, and Zoom features news, football, weather, listings and finance pages, by means of links to the network of This Is sites, run by Associated, including thisislondon.com and thisismoney.com.

The site also gives net surfers access to online shopping, mainly with its own fashion brands (which include Burtons and Dorothy Perkins), and enables cutomers to buy music, video, flowers and tickets online from groups such as HMV, Interflora and Ticketmaster. Communications facilities such as email and personal web space are also available, and Zoom hopes to create a loyal following by offering a discount programme to regular shoppers on the sites.

Chairman of the Zoom team is Robin Klein, and Eva Pascoe takes the role of managing director. Pascoe commented: “Zoom is not about technology; it’s about saving you money, time and helping you to find the best deals and even securing online credit without wearing out your shoe-leather.”
