Ark2 In Financial Crisis

The Christian cable channel Ark2 will have to delay its launch since it has failed to secure enough money to cover its costs.

The channel was due to broadcast in October * Christian Cable Channel To Launch and then this was postponed until November 25 which now also seems unlikely. It is not clear whether the initial £1.8m which had been secured was found insufficient or whether some backers subsequently pulled out, but the channel will probably not go live now until at least February 1998. It is understood that a senior executive of the channel is currently seeking financial backing in South Africa to the tune of around £2m.
