ASA Stamps Out Misleading Adverts
The Advertising Standards Authority is launching a new advertising campaign to coincide with its 35th anniversary. The adverts will feature the ASA tick logo replaced with a cross highlighting the fact that an advertisement has been withdrawn because it is misleading. The campaign will see the ASA advertising in cinema for the first time in 15 years with a spoof health and beauty advert which reinforces the “stamping out” theme of the print ads.
This will be the ninth campaign run the ASA and all the creative and work will be handled by Reay & Partners and CIA Medianetwork who freely gave their time to co-ordinate the adverts. Newspapers, magazines, poster companies and cinemas have all agreed to run the advertisements for free.
