Associated Plans Women’s Website Launch

Associated New Media (ANM), the internet division of Associated Newspapers, has revealed plans for a major new website launch aimed at women. The site, currently under the working name of CharlotteStreet.com, will be edited by Nicola Davenport, formerly with the Press Association and the group is channeling £5 million into the internet project.

The content will be offered across at least 12 channels and as well as covering the staple topics of health, fitness and beauty, content will also include information on travel, careers and personal finance.

A team of 24 is currently being put together, and Davenport promises that the project will be useful and informative as well entertaining. The readership profile is intended to be women of a wide age-range, says Davenport. She told Newsline this morning: “The site will have a very strong editorial content, and be aspirational as well as interesting and thought provoking.”

ANM, which is a division of the Daily Mail & General Trust, is also interested in talking to other parties about what they might be able to bring to the site. CharlotteStreet.com is due to launch in September, and the group is inviting pitches from media and creative agencies for the ad campaign.
