Attic Futura Poaches Natmags PR
Attic Futura has poached Sue Asbury from Natmags, where she was PR manager for the Young Women’s group, replacing Lorraine Pearson, who left earlier this year, as PR manager for the Attic Futura portfolio.
Attic Futura managing director Vivien Cotterill, to whom Asbury will report, said: “The youth magazine market is currently more competitive than ever and Sue is just the person we need to help drive our new PR strategy forward. This year also sees B with its first ever major PR support, again in a hugely competitive field. Sue will also be working on the Inside Soap Awards that last year generated £2.7 million PR value and this year will be even bigger and better. Sue’s professionalism, enthusiasm for brands and her wealth of experience will mean she will be a great asset to Attic Futura.”
Asbury is to take up her new role immediately. In addition to her day to day responsibilities managing issue specific publicity for Attic’s six titles, Asbury will be working with Cotterill with the objective of increasing the profile of its portfolio of magazines as well as the corporate business.
In the last set of ABC figures, three out of Attic Futura’s five titles saw year on year falls in circulation, including its top title by circulation, teen magazine Sugar, which saw an 8.8% fall to 385,000. Earlier this month it was announced that French media group, Hachette Filipacchi is to buy the group for around £40m.
