Attic Futura Restructures Sales Department

Attic Futura has announced plans to restructure its advertising department, becoming the third magazine publisher to redefine itself across its core markets. The group, which publishes titles including TV Hits and Sugar, will now conduct sales across two major genres: youth and entertainment and women’s health and lifestyle.

A number of senior appointments have been made to head the new departments. Lisa Ford will move from ad manager of Sugar to overall controller of the group’s youth and entertainment titles, Sugar, TV Hits and Inside Soap. Her current deputy ad manager Claire Landels, will be promoted to ad manager.

Toby Moore has been poached from Natmag’s Zest to take up the post of ad sales controller of the women’s health and lifestyle group which comprises B, Shine, Real Health and Beauty and Good Health.

Caroline Connor, group advertising director, has been promoted to the position of commercial director for Attic Futura Europe.

“This restructure will help us to develop campaigns across titles and grow our promotional activity further. The appointment of Caroline Connor to commercial director and Lara Wilkins to marketing director coupled with the two new advertising controller positions is the next step in structuring our business for future growth,” said Neil Raaschou, managing director, Attic Futura.

A few weeks ago IPC Magazines restructured itself across core markets, emphasising the importance of key advertising categories in a media-neutral age (see Bailey Says Brands Not Mags For IPC’s Future). The move mirrored a similar reconstruction by Emap (see Feature: Publishers Move Towards “Media-Neutral” Brands).
