August ABCs Released
The national newspaper ABCs, released today, show that among the broadsheets The Times has once again performed the best. The News International title showed a 7.85% increase in circulation year-on-year to 709,374 copies. The FT and Guardian both showed slight increases, while The Daily Telegraph‘s circulation dropped 1.22% to just over 1 million and the Independent dropped 7.65% to 273,000 copies.
Among the mid-markets, the Daily Mail‘s circulation rose by almost 15% to over 2 million copies while the Daily Express fell by 3.13% to 1.2 million. Both the Daily Mirror and the Sun recorded circulation drops amongst the tabloid titles, with the Mirror dropping 3.98% to 2.4 million and the Sun falling by 0.48% to 4 million. The Daily Star rose by 2.61% to over 755,000.

Once again most of the Sunday titles showed circulation declines: the Sunday Express had the biggest loss, down 11.42% to 1.2 million, and the Independent On Sunday dropped 10.12% to 297,520. Only the Mail On Sunday recorded an increase, up 5.75% to slightly over 2 million copies.
