BARB Begins Cable Measurement

BARB has begun a new panel which will include five cable channels previously absent from the survey.

Panel 71 will measure L!ve TV , the Travel Channel , the Box , Carlton Food Network and Carlton Select . The survey began on 29 September and will be included in BARB data releases over the next couple of months. BARB told Newsline that it expected other broadband cable channels to join the new panel in the future as they were launched.

According to L!ve TV initial unconsolidated data from the survey reveals that it tops the cable “viewing league” with a 1.08% share of viewing: slightly more than the Sci-Fi Channel , MTV and Sky News .
