BARB Puts Audience Measurement Contract Out To Tender
BARB (Broadcaster’s Audience Research Board) is issuing a formal invitation to tender for the new Audience Measurement Contract. Submissions to tender should be made to the chief executive at BARB, and formal negotiations for the contract will begin with those groups that convince BARB they have a serious interest in submitting a tender.
The research contract is worth between £10 and £11 million per year. BARB research is currently conducted by Taylor Nelson Sofres and RSMB Television Research.
Caroline McDevitt, chief executive at BARB, commented: “We are on the threshold of a new millenium and the dynamism of the broadcasting and advertising industry will necessarily mean huge changes to allow the measurement system to cope with the new developments, many of which cannot yet be anticipated.”
