Bauer Advertising Hires New Radio Trading Director

Bauer Logo Bauer Advertising has named Derek Hewitt, formerly of News International, as its new radio trading director.

Hewitt has 20 years experience in the industry, most recently working as a client development manager on exclusive deals with Mars and Kimberly Clark.

He was influential in growing News International’s portfolio of non-spending clients from £2 million to £14 million per year as well as managing a 2006 World Cup sales effort, which exceeded its target by more than £5 million.

At Bauer Advertising, Hewitt will be responsible for negotiating all agency radio deals, continuing to build its portfolio of national and local radio stations and managing the radio trading team.

Hewitt said: “I am pleased to be joining Bauer Advertising at such an exciting time for the business and to be working on the growth and development of such an array of successful and potent brands.”

Bauer’s collection of radio stations now includes a number of regional and digital stations such as Kiss Digital, Magic Network and Total Kerrang.

Adrian Serle, Bauer Advertising radio sales director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Derek to the team, as the business enters a new era. He has a wealth and breadth of experience that will help us shape our future trading strategy, and look forward to him transferring his skills to our radio business.”
