BBC And Laser Staff Changes

Two senior executives are leaving the BBC. Tim Gardam, Head of the BBC’s News and Current Affairs, is to be the head of News and Current Affairs with Channel 5. Chris Cramer, head of newsgathering, has been appointed vice- president and managing director of CNN International.

…Airtime sales house Laser has announced that Andy Hawkins has been appointed as executive Sales Director for the eight satellite channels to be launched in the Autumn under the umbrella of Granada Sky Broadcasting. Formerly Commercial Director at radio station Atlantic 252, he will report to Mick Desmond, Laser Chief Executive.

In a separate move Derek Hemment, deputy chief executive of Laser, has left to ‘pursue other interests’.
