The BBC yesterday won an undertaking in the High Court that it will remain part of the Star TV service in Asia until the full hearing of a contract dispute, following the writ issued by the BBC against News Corporation. (Newsline 18/10)
News Corporation threatened to terminate the BBC’s 10 year contract because of the planned Arabic news service, due to launch next April. The full hearing is expected in January. It is hoped for a speedy decision to settle the matter before the planned launch.
