BBC Autumn Schedule
The BBC yesterday unveiled details of its new £200m Autumn schedule, with head of drama, Charles Denton, confident that it would bring the BBC back up in the quality stakes, and dispel recent criticisms about its ratings performance.
New additions to the autumn line-up will include Ben Elton’s adaptation of his book, Stark, Ian Richardson starring the sequel to House of Cards, To Play the King, and a new detective series – Pie in the Sky. David Jason will star in a new comedy set in Liverpool, The Bullion Boys, and Robbie Coltrane will also appear in the schedule in Tour of the Western Isles, along with John Sessions.
George Eliot’s Middlemarch will appear as a six part serial, and Hanif Kureishi’s novel, The Buddha of Suburbia has also been adapted in four parts.
