BBC Has Eurovision Winner – Unlike Scooch

Woeful Performance A woeful performance from Britain’s Eurovision entrants Scooch didn’t harm Saturday night viewing figures for BBC One. The annual campfest attracted strong viewing figures of 7.77 million adults across its three and a quarter hour duration, with a peak of 9.86 million during 10.30pm and 10.45pm.

Earlier in the evening, BBC One’s Any Dream Will Do continued to win its ratings battle with ITV1’s Grease Is The Word. The two carbon copy talent contests aiming to find stars for future West End musicals attracted adult audiences of 4.67 million for the BBC One show and 3.87 million for ITV1’s.

Sunday night’s overnights showed comedy drama Kingdom just edging its battle with cop series Dalziel and Pascoe, with the former attracting 5.41 million viewers to the latter’s 5.28 million.

Over on Channel 4 Frost and Pegg’s Perfect Night In gained a respectable 1.26 million viewers, easily beating the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy (1.02 million) and repeat showing of Jet Li film Romeo Must Die (870,000 million).
