…BBC Hits All-Time Low

While Channel 5 was celebrating record viewing figures during its coverage of the Poland-England match on Wednesday night, BBC 1 was suffering a ratings crisis, it was reported today.

Pitted against the major football match and ITV’s popular gameshow, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, the BBC’s schedule fared badly, achieving just 18.1% of the audience during peak time viewing, according to unofficial figures. A new series, Dream Wheels, which looks at transport, a repeated edition of Keeping Up Appearances, and a return series of Battersea Dogs Home were followed by The National Lottery Love Songs; none were strong enough to beat ITV 38.7% share of the audience.
