BBC Magazines Announces Biggest Ever Pre-School Launch

BBC Magazines has announced that its biggest ever pre-school launch will take place next month when the new Fimbles magazine goes on sale.

The 24-page title, which is dedicated to the latest CBBC pre-school phenomenon, launches on 14 November with a coverprice of £1.40. The magazine will extend the company’s existing portfolio of pre-school titles, which includes the Teletubbies and Tweenies magazines.

Fimbles will be the first magazine in BBC Magazines’ pre-school portfolio to be promoted with in-store activity at launch, including specially produced display units and competitions with retailers.

It is understood that with an initial print run of 240,000, the magazine is hoping to top the circulation of Tweenies, which currently stands at just over 200,000.

Earlier this year BBC Worldwide extending its portfolio of pre-teen titles with the launch of a new magazine called Disney’s Explorer. The 32-page title, which is aimed at children aged between 7 and 10, went on sale last month aimed at those interested in exploration and discovery (see BBC Worldwide Extends Pre-Teen Portfolio).
