The BBC has promoted Kerstin Mogull, the BBC’s deputy director for policy and strategy, to the newly created role of chief operating officer for the future media and technology department.
Mogull will report to Eric Huggers, who was recently appointed director of the future media & technology department, replacing Ashley Highfield (see BBC Appoints Erik Huggers Director Of Future Media).
She will be responsible for the effective management and governance of the division, its partnership with other BBC divisions – Vision, Audio & Music and Journalism – and its relationship with the BBC Trust.
Mogull joined the BBC in 2001 where as controller for the BBC’s strategy group she has worked on the BBC iPlayer, service licences and the Delivering Creative Future strategy.
It has also been reported that the corporation is creating a second senior management role within the future media and technology department, to oversee the division’s editorial direction.
