BBC Radio Reaction
BBC reaction to the latest Rajar results has been optimistic. Despite the fact that commercial radio has increased its share by 3.3%, BBC Radio still has 56.1% of the total share.
The BBC points out that Radio 3 has increased its audience share from 1.3% to 1.4%, bringing its audience to over 3 million, citing the live evening concerts and the Proms as a reason for its popularity.
Although Radio 1’s share dropped from 19.9% to 19.6%, this still means that over half the nation’s 15-34 year olds tune into Radio 1.
