Yesterday BBC1 announced full details of the Screen One season, to be broadcast on Sunday evenings from September 5. These BBC made films are an attempt to win ratings from ITV on Sunday evenings. The ITV schedule is movie premieres and drama series.
The £12m package includes films with Julie Walters, ‘Wide-eyed and Legless’ and ‘Bambine Mio’; Alec Guiness, Leo McKern and Lauren Bacall in A Foreign Field’ and Dawn French in a serious role in ‘Tender Loving Care’.
