BBC Threatens To Sue Talk Radio

The BBC has threatened Talk Radio UK with legal action over reported attempts to sign Steve Wright after his resignation from Radio 1 two weeks ago (see Newsline 16/1). Steve Wright had announced that he was to leave Radio 1 to pursue his television career, but constant rumours that he will join Talk Radio have led to the BBC’s legal department sending two letters to the new radio station threatening legal action on the grounds that it was encouraging the DJ to break the terms of his contract.
